Bud: I’m not a fan of Imperial Council, but the upside to him doing well in his preps and making it to the KY Derby starting gate is that you know he’ll be insanely overbet given the connections.

I consider the Dubai contingent strong this year. No knocks against Desert Party yet and Regal Ransom has a terrific Classic pedigree, as does Papa Clem, who also impressed me with how game he was in the Lewis Stakes. Of course, weeks to go, and who knows what will happen this Saturday or the next … shake-ups are certain.
