Sounds like a great way to not be around in three or four years.

Makes me wonder if all the Julia Allison nonsense on Gawker the last couple of years was paid for by Julia Allison, even if all the pub is bad I bet it generated a ton of clicks through her sites.

When media companies start walking this line they lose all credibility.  The internet hive will sniff out what is ads and what is not and at that point people will start turning their backs.

Ads are a dirty word on the web - no one clicks on them, people bend over backwards to configure browsers to filter them out of actual content, rss readers, etc.

I understand that media companies have to do something but this seems a like serious risk that will result in damaging their brand.</description>

		<description>I haven&#039;t read the Gawker link yet but I remember seeing something about the Gates Foundation basically buying a storyline in the final episode of ER, something aligned with their do-gooding endeavors. Part of me was alarmed while another part was completely intrigued.</description>
