C'mon. The funny thing is that Larry Merchant, of all people, writes in to complain about boxing not getting a fair shake. This coming from a color commentator who works for subscription based HBO. And even then, HBO doesn't even get the fights he's talking about because of pay-per-view. After reading both, you'd think that people only get their news from the 'dailies' or the NYT. These sports are just falling off the cliff because they just aren't covering them. I don't buy it. Sounds like a lot of navel gazing and finger pointing. Is O’Keefe’s really just pointing out that if only the ‘dailies’ championed the great story that is racing then everything is going to get better? C’mon.
