I guess this comment might belong on your previous post. But, I also agree re: setting a bad precedent. On another note, I'd love to get a look at that voting form, perhaps it's a case of broken user experience hard at work! There are plenty of hard to use, confusing and otherwise "broken" forms (from a user experience point of view) out there, this could be one of them.
