Len Friedman uttered:

“Take Zardana out of the New Orleans Ladies and Rachel Alexandra wins by 12 lengths, everyone rejoices and she runs in the Apple Blossom,” Friedman said. “Then I get betting value on Zenyatta who would have been 1-to-5 in my mind to beat her.”

It’s all so simple to the number crunchers.
There is a good chance that Rachel Alexandra may be in a dogfight in her next start, whenever that may be.

If so, that would put the “peak effort” in June in serious jeapardy. The Apple Blossom clash was not going to happen. Now those with a crystal ball will go out on a limb and predict a retirement from one of the to queens.

One of the gals may never reach peak form.
And the other racing as a 6 year old without a winter break do not figure to last all the way to the Breeders Cup 2010.

Again – realists can save a lot of wasted bandwidth these days. ;-)
