– Barbaro, who arrived at the Fair Hill training center in Maryland early Monday, will jog Wednesday morning. The Derby winner will be prepped for the Preakness at Fair Hill, which is trainer Michael Matz’s base.
– Matz was back in the winner’s circle today: When the Saints, the trainer’s first starter since saddling Barbaro for the Derby, won the eighth at Delaware Park this afternoon.
– Jockey Edgar Prado took no time off: The rider won three at Belmont on Sunday. “This is a good end to a big weekend,” said Prado.
