Being a man I’m not sensitive to the marketing that is supposedly gender specific. Should racing do a better job of targeting women specifically or should its marketing do a better job of recognizing that many different demographics enjoy the sport?
Since I spend most of my live racing at Keeneland and Churchill I don’t notice the disparity between genders at the track. That said, it’s a different story at the simulcast.

Eddie D… perhaps both, definitely the latter!
I’ll caveat this by saying I’m far too tired to read the piece the bloodhorse at the moment, but that being said…
There are currently 36 blogs that are a part of the Thoroughbred Bloggers Alliance, of those 36, 13 are written by women. That’s 36%.
I guess the thing that constantly surprises me is the assumption that women WOULDN’T be interested in racing/handicapping. Being analytical, competitive and not risk averse are not gender specific qualities.
