hi jessica,
i really enjoy your blog. thanks for sticking up for the fans. another takeout increase in ny, ugghh.
i have always felt that keeneland and monmouth have done the most service to racing fans as well as themselves (regarding betting volume) by putting their live signal on streaming internet video at no charge. by seeing paddock and post parade video we are a better educated fan and more financially committed to our “plunges”.
tvg has many agreements with tracks yet, once the central and west coast time zones start racing, east coast racing becomes a second class citizen. we end up not seeing belmont’s paddock or post parade and live races being presented on tape delay.
i’m very curious about social media tools and how it may help regain lost track attendance.
when is your fan club meeting on track?
best regards,

Thanks, Steve. I couldn’t agree with you more about the importance of seeing the paddock and post parade. In New York, the OTB channel does a pretty good job streaming the NYRA feed, but only NYRA, because it’s all they show in the afternoon. They don’t handle other tracks well after that card ends. Keeneland is terrific, and I make a lot of use of their free video feed during the meet.
There’s a post coming soon on social media tools, part of something I’ve been working on about the NTRA panel in Vegas last week. It’s an interesting subject (at least, I hope so) …

Not that I know what I am talking about, I don’t. But this phenomenon that takes place once the West starts its racing day on TVG tells me its time for an East Coast channel to rise up..Lord. I’m starting to resent the West coast, this and that…Bel race 8-9 and 10 on weekends is just important as all the other races you have shown…Hello…I feel like a horse racing rapper.
Yo East Coast!

all tracks need a CAROUSEL for the PEOPLE(little & big ones!)(should have had them four hundred years ago)… that idea is like the HOOLA HOOP(why didn’t i think of that) LONG LIVE BELLWETHER(they have a pocket full of HOOLA HOOPS)!!!…BARRANGO.COM…we build the finest ones in the world rite here in AMERCIA by AMERCIAN HANDS…what a concept…HORSE RACING “WON Oh! WON” & “Carousel of Legends”(trademarked & copywright)…WAKEUP AMERCIA & help us bring our NATIONAL TREASURE back to the top of the sports where it belongs!!!the powers that be(stewarts of the game) have been asleep @ the wheel & still can’t kill it!!!GET BUSY…
