Boston to Baltimore and back on Monday and all I got was a losing ticket on the second race at Zia Park. (By a nose!) Well, that’s not quite true. I also left with much appreciation for a new venture, Racing Midlantic, that Frank Vespe, of That’s Amore, and John Scheinman, noted turf writer, have been working on for many months. The two outlined their start-up plans in a dark-day meeting at Laurel, and I don’t think I’m breaking any confidences to report, they’re up to something interesting, and you’ll surely be hearing more about it soon.
